Free Superbowl Picks for Ravens VS Patriots

The two favored teams when it comes to online betting to win the AFC all season is now vying for the championship this Sunday. The patriots will host Baltimore with a spot in the Super Bowl on the line. The New England’s future Hall of Fame quarterback has been extraordinary as of late and he’ll do enough ot outduel his Baltimore counterpart.

Free Superbowl Picks: New England Patriots -7.5

When: Sunday, January 22nd, 3:00 PM ET

Where: Gillette Stadium, Foxborough

Why the Baltimore’s a Good Bet (13-4 SU, 8-8-1 ATS)

The Ravens may have been a bit lucky to move on to the next round as they needed their defense to carry them to a 20-13 win at home over Houston, forcing four turnovers along the way. Safety Ed Reed managed to have six tackles, a pick and four passes defensed, and he had to be carried off at the end of the game because he sold his body out to knock down the Texans’ final heave to the end zone.

LaDarius Webb had a pair of picks for the Ravens, who allowed Arian Foster to run for 132 yards and Andre Johnson had 111 receiving yards, but Baltimore made stops when they had to. The offense was just bad and Joe Flacco was 14-of-27 for 176 yards, although he did throw two touchdown passes. The line couldn’t open any holes for the running game (87 yards on 31 attempts), and they couldn’t protect Flacco, who was sacked five times and pressured many more. The offense is just bad and it almost cost them this game.

For injuries, Reed’s Knee MRI returned with a negative remark so you can expect the future Hall of Famer to be in the lineup and the Ravens will need him at the back of the defense, playing center field against the vaunted Patriots offense. However, it wouldn’t matter how well the defense perform because if Flacco and the offense don’t improve, they might as well just stay at home. Getting Ray Rice going is essential to keep the opposition off-balance, but New England’s secondary isn’t that good, so they can be attacked.

Why the New England Patriots should be Wagered On (14-3 SU, 10-6-1 ATS)

The Patriots guaranteed that by the end of the first half there would be no NFL betting upsets as they rolled to a 35-10 halftime lead and cruised to a 45-10 romp of Denver at home. Tom Brady was 26-0f-34 for 363 yards and a pick, and his six touchdown passes tied an NFL record. Three of them went to tight end Rob Gronkowski, which was also a record, and Brady set a new mark with five touchdowns in the first half. New England also threw a wrinkle into their offense by putting tight end Aaron Hernandez in the backfield and he responded with 61 yards on five carries. Hernandez ran occasionally when he was at Florida (where he was a teammate of Denver quarterback Tim Tebow), and it just shows the versatility of this high-powered unit. The defense gave up 144 yards on the ground, but they did a better job of controlling Denver’s read-option offense than their first meeting and once they got out to a big lead, the Broncos had to throw it and that played into New England’s hands.

Hernandez had a possible head injury or concussion but the tests came back negative and he was able to pass early tests so you can see him in the lineup this week. The Patriots have now won nine in a row outright and only once have they scored less than 30 points (27 in a Week 16 come-from-behind win over Miami). And for all of the yards that the Patriots give up, they’re 15th in the league in points allowed. The patchwork secondary has come together in recent weeks and they can also stop the run, thanks to stoppers like Vince Wilfork on the line and Jerod Mayo at linebacker. Combine all of that with Brady’s solid focus and the Patriots are going to be hard to beat, especially at home.

How Will It Turn Out?

NFL betting odds favored the Patriots by 7.5 points at home, where they are 4-1 SU and 3-1 ATS in their last five meetings with the Ravens, with three games falling under the posted total. However, the only loss came in the playoffs two years ago, when the Ravens stomped the Patriots 33-14 at “The Razor” and they have enough veteran players that the crowd should be a major factor.

This could really go down to the play of the quarterbacks. Flacco will certainly need to play better on Sunday than he did back against with the Texans because we all know that the Patriots will put up points. New England needs to protect Brady from the Baltimore pass rush.

2012 Superbowl predictions: Will Brady Rise Again with Another Title?

In less than 2weeks, we will have the Superbowl again! One of the greatest and most exciting sports event around the globe. What team are you cheerin for? Here are some of our superbowl predictions that can help you

Tom Brady, New England Patriots QB, has great chances to become the greatest quarterback in the history of the NFL if he wins the SuperBowl this season that is.

Another title would give Brady four for his career, which will definitely be a very remarkable feat in the era of free agency.

Joe Montana is the legend of San Francisco 4934s and is often thought of as the best quarterback since he has four SuperBowl titles and Clutch Play in many important games, but he did that in an era when it was easier to keep teams together.

Not to discredit Montana's accomplishments, but Brady has been successful with less talent and several different receiving corps and running backs.

Tom Brady has managed to make receivers like David Givens and Troy Brown look like amazing players, and he even got good production out of Reche Caldwell. Brady ha salso never had an all-pro running back play alongside him for more than one season.

Four Championships, two NFl MVPs ad multiple SuperBowl MVPs would give Brady the edge over the 49ers legend.

A title for Brady this season could easily be the most amazing and impressive of his career. Wes Walker may be a great receiver but he is not a deep threat that scares defenses like Randy Moss. If teams perform their defensive game plan well, Welker can be stopped.

With Chad Ochocinco and Deion Branch giving the Patriots very little this season, Brady has had to rely on two young tight ends to carry the passing offense in the red zone.

Setting the record for most touchdowns in a single season by a tight end is Rob Gronkowski with 17 and Aaron Hernandez had a fine season as well.

To have a remarkable season despite having inexperienced and under-performing players on offense (for the most part) is truly amazing for Brady.

The fact that the Patriots defense was terrible this season put even more pressure on Brady to perform well. He knew that the defense was bad, so he had to score at least 30 points in most games to win.

Great thing with Brady is that he can win in any sort of style of offense and also under any circumstances. Having to adjust to playing with so many different receivers in his career yet still being a top quarterback, is a tremendous achievement.

Are you betting on this Superbowl? We are definitely sure that these superbowl predictions will help you decide on what team to bet to. Good Luck.

Don’t Know How to Bet on the Superbowl Online?

We have a lot of gambling stories and we would love to explain all about the different bets you can make on the Superbowl online. You don’t have to travel all the way to Vegas in order to gamble since there’s Sportsbook.com where you can make bets on your favorite football team without leaving your house for Superbowl Sunday.

Let us go through the Superbowl betting types:

Straight / Side Bet

This is one of the common forms of betting in the Superbowl and in any regular football game where you pick which team will win the game or the Superbowl.

You also need to take note of the moneyline in order to know how much you want to wager. If the line on the team you want to bet on is -150 then you would have to bet that amount of $150 in order to win $100. In the case that the line on the team you want to bet on is +150 then you would have to bet only $100 in order to win that amount of $150.

Point Spread or Totals

This is the most popular method of betting on the Super Bowl but how does it work?

Let’s say that the Denver Broncos were visiting the New England Patriots and the Patriots was established as a six-point favorite at game time, which can be found commonly written as Detroit -6. Denver Broncos would be the underdog and displayed as Denver +6. If you wager on the favorite they have to win by more than 6 points to win your bet. Take note that the Patriots are favored by 6 points so subtract 6 points from their final score on a spread bet. If the Broncos were to win 27-20, Broncos bettors would win their wager. If the Patriots were to win the game by any score and you picked the Patriots, you win not including the extra 6 points. If the Broncos were to win, 20-14, it would a push and you get your wager back.

Propositions

The Superbowl has a lot of proposition bets which can get ridiculous at times from which team to get a foul first or which team to gen injured. It is not necessary that you should bet on these sort of bets nor is it advisable. A smart bettor would avoid it but if you just want to bet on who gets to throw the ball first for the hell of it then be the guest.

Betting on the Superbowl 2012

It’s just a few more weeks and the Superbowl will be kickstarting the action. For those people who wish to bet on Superbowl, you need to know what sort of bets you want to make. A lot of fans are crazy when it comes to watching the game and betting on their favorite teams is just another way of adding the thrills and adrenaline rushes.

First off, if you’re an avid fan who knows nothing about betting on football then we have lists of betting types that can help you bet on Superbowl.

Straight Wagers

The team that was wagered on must win by the point spread given at the time of the wager. For straight wagers, the odds are #1.10 to win $1.00 unless otherwise indicated. “No Action” is for games that ended up as ties and money is re-deposited back into your account. Things can get unpredictable and events may change so expect that the point spread may fluctuate at any time.

Let’s say a player wagered on the Broncos -7 $110 to beat the Giants +7

The player only wins if the Broncos win by more than 7 points, getting $100 as reward. To total payout would be $210 including the wager amount. In the case that the Broncos only win by 7 points then it’s a “No Action” and the wager is returned. The player loses if the Broncos wins by less than 7 points.

Totals Betting

This is the combined score of both teams for games wagered on, all totals lay $1.10 to win $1.00 unless it is otherwise indicated.

Ex:

The bettor lays $220 on the OVER in the Patriots/Giants game. The total for the game is 45. If both teams’ combined score is more than 45 then the player wins $200. In the case that the combined score is equal to 45 then the game is considered as “No Action” and the wager is returned. If the combined score is less than 45 then the wager is lost.

Moneyline Wagers

The team you placed a bet on must win the game. This is a simple betting type and the amount you lay depends and may vary for each game. The money line is that is read to at the moment of your wager is the moneyline you keep regardless of any movement.

Halftime

The wager is placed on the odds posted for the second half of a game only. All wagers must go the full second half for action. All halftime wagers are calculated the same as a straight wager unless otherwise indicated. There are no teaser plays or buying of points on halftimes. First half lines are also available.

Parlays

In this type you can wager of up to 2 or more teams, up to 5 teams or propositions in no particular order. All teams wagered on in a parlay must win. If there is a tie, it reverts down to the next lowest number for payoff.

Teasers

This is similar to parlay betting except that here, the point spread is adjusted to your favor. This is a bet with a selection of more teams and the number of the teams selected and the number of points selected determines the payout odds. A “Tie” or “No Action” and a “Win” on a two team teaser shall constitute a “No Action” wager.

A “Tie” or a “No Action” and a “Loss” on a two team shall constitute a “Losing g” wager. Ties on a three or more team teaser shall revert to the next lowest gambling bracket. A tie on a three team becomes a two team teaser for example.

Teaser Payoffs/Odds for Football
Football- points 6 6.5 7

2 teams 10/11 10/12 10/13
3 teams 16/10 14/10 12/10
4 teams 25/10 20/10 18/10
5 teams 40/10 35/10 30/10
6 teams 60/10 50/10 40/10
7 teams 90/10 80/10 70/10
8 teams 140/10 120/10 100/10

3 Team 10 point Football - 10/12
* All ties lose in a 3 team 10 point football teaser

Futures and Propositions

Future wagers depend on the outcome of events that happen each year and all wagers here are final. There will be no payouts until the conclusion of the specified season. Proposition plays are wagers based on the outcome of events that occur annually. Odds change daily and all wagers are considered action at the odds quoted at the time of the wager.

Reverse Wagers

Reverses revert to individual If Bets. You can include up to 8 teams in a Reverse bet. The payoffs vary depending on the number of teams wagered on. A 2-Team Reverse pays 4/1, a 3-Team Reverse pays 12/1 considering that the wager is $100. Standard Reverse bets are Double Action; therefore in the event of a time the bet is still active.

These bets are applicable to any football game and not only for the superbowl. Should you wish to make a bet on the upcoming big event, you already know different types of wagers to choose from.

2012 Free Superbowl Picks: Lucky Eight

Eight teams remain to battle it out to the Superbowl, so who will arrive most victorious of all? Let’s check and find out.

Green Bay Packers

Considered as the favorite to Superbowl with odds of 2 to 1 in certain sportsbooks sites online, there is a lot of sentiment that the Green Bay Packers could be in for a shock in the post season. The road to winning the Superbowl is definitely littered with some amazing teams such as the team that ended its chances of winning the Super Bowl in 2008 – the Giants.

QB Aaron Rodgers will have had 20 straight days without game action when he steps on the field this weekend and that could be problematic. There could be no doubt that this could be the best team in football but will it show? We all know that the Super Bowl can be quite unpredictable and the best team doesn’t always win the Super Bowl but could be the free Superbowl picks to really nail it.

New England Patriots

Odds to win 2.85 to 1 at certain sportsbook sites.

The gang of QB Tom Brady were favored greatly to have to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers, a team that beat them and beat them up the first go around this year, but thanks to some Tebow Magic, the Pats now get the significantly easier Broncos, whom they mauled on the road just a weeks ago. It seems like an easy walk to the AFC Championship Game from here, but is this team really tough in the post season?

New Orleans Saints

Each time we see more of QV Drew Brees throw the football, the more that we realize that the Saints have great chances at winning the whole shebang. Odds at certain sites gave 3.85 to 1, it’s not bad. They are definitely going to be rooting for the Giants this week against the Packers to try to get the NFC Championship Game back in the Bayou, but in all likelihood, Brees and the gang know that they still need to get past Lambeau Field, where their season began with a loss this year to get to the Super Bowl. The game this week against San Fran is being overlooked by most though, so don’t be shocked if the boys from New Orleans are going to get sent packing this weekend.

Baltimore Ravens

It has been a long time since QB Joe Flacco and company played a home game in the playoffs. The odds by sportsbook sites gives 7 to 1 to these dudes. Now they have a home game against a team that has only won its first playoff game last week. The Texans has no chance whatsoever when these two teams meet again on Sunday with QB TJ Yates calling the shots instead. Baltimore is a scary, scary choice out of the AFC playoffs at this point.

San Francisco 49ers

Not the most respected team this year, they’re given 15 to 1 odds at certain sportsbook online. Head Coach Jim Harbaugh did an amazing job with this team year. The team run the ball, outstanding defense, they don’t beat themselves and they play hard in the trenches. But the question remains if they are going to be a better team against the Saints. The answer is mostly likely a “No” but they are playing at home where they have defeated some great teams this season. Don’t overlook this 7-1 SU and 7-0-1 ATS mark that San Francisco put up at Candlestick Park this year.

New York Giants

17 to 1 odds for the Giants, at sportsbook online. The Giants were amazing with defeating the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, but do they really have a chance of beating the Packers on their home field? We obviously have seen it before in the most improbable of circumstances when this team won the Super Bowl in 2008, but New York just doesn’t feel like it has the ability to string another game together like the one that it just played, perhaps it will take that and a whole lot more in order to move on to the NFC Championship Game next week.

Houston Texans

Could be up in the heavens celebrating over the fact that they are here and have managed to get their very first post season game as a win but after the 31-10 romp of the Cincinnati Bengals last week, it was a very businesslike atmosphere. Their head coach Gary Kubiak has his team believe that it can win the whole thing. A chance is all that the Texans want this weekend in Baltimore and sad to say but that is exactly what they will get.

Denver Broncos

They have an indescribable 45 to 1 odds at online sportsbook on average. This team has QB Tim Tebow complete 10-of-21 passing against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the 10th completion went for 80 yards and the game winning TD in overtime. On that battle against Pittsburgh, the Broncos left oodles of points on the board. They can’t really run the ball effectively, at least 6 out of 7 of Tebow’s throws were total ducks, including some of the completed ones. At times, their defense can’t even stop a quarterback with one healthy leg and with no offensive line in front of him. Yet in the end, that has been Denver in a nut shell all season long. The team was perhaps lucky to win games.

Dealing With Intangible Assets in Hockey Betting

There are lots of things that one should understand before diving into hockey betting. That is, if you want to win most of the time. The intangibles that we are talking about here are about the assets and pitfalls of each team. Understanding these things will definitely give you an edge when it comes to handicapping games in hockey betting.

This is where years of nightly dedication to following the sport are irreplaceable assets. The intangibles in hockey is quite numerous than any other sports and can be summed up in two words – TEAM CHEMISTRY.

To further elaborate on what it means – the NHL is beyond fast and furious. This is the only major sport where the players in a team can be changed while on the fly, where one flick of the finger can changed the entire momentum of a game, where 59 minutes of desperately hard work can go down the drain with a careless pass. Taking care of a screw up is very unlike other sports where you can regain your dignity. Here, if you mess up, the only thing you can do is pray your team won’t kill you and eat you.

You just have to pray as well that a teammate may save your butt. You also can’t really rely on the goalie since he won’t come out unless he’s hurt or your game is getting killed in the game. In hockey, every defenseman on the ice has to be to skate like a forward and every forward better be willing to throw himself in front of a slapshot. This is a team sport like none other. That means that leadership, sacrifice, effort and commitment have to come from every player who ties up his skates or that team has a problem.

Problems in teams can happen so often and team players bickering and having a bit of rivalry can really affect their performance. Sometimes a team may have a problem with a new coach and may not follow the coach’s orders. Factors like these are important if you are betting on a team.

Reading and researching about these nitty-gritty things is additional information that should give you an edge when it comes to hockey betting picks. Betting on a team that has serious problems getting along despite being ranked one of the best is still a risky bet.

Hockey betting gives a lot of opportunities for bets so if you could spare a game for another because you are not well prepared or your heart’s not in it then do so.
